Eligibility Conditions
Someone who has completed any of the following exams from Punjab University or from any other university whose exam is acknowledged as being equal to the relevant exam from this university:
- Bachelor's Degree obtaining at least 45% marks in English Compulsory or English Elective subject.
- Bachelor's Degree in any faculty with 50% marks in the aggregate.
- B.A. with (Honors) in English\
- A minimum of 50% overall in a non-English subject toward a B.A. or B.Sc. with honors.
- A master's degree test with a cumulative 50% grade in any other topic.
Beginning with the 2013–2014 academic year, the pass rate for the English entrance exam has improved to 35% (30% for candidates from S.C., S.T., BC, and PwD categories).
PU CET MA English Entrance Test Scheme
The written test will be 1 hour and 30 minutes long and will carry 75 marks. The pattern of the CET MA English Entrance Test of P.U. should be as follows:
- An unseen poem as a reading comprehension passage. Knowledge of Literary appreciation will also be tested in these questions: 20 marks
- Precis - Writing 15 marks
- An essay of about 400 words, 25 marks
- Short Answer Questions 15 marks
